Development Council 

In the spring of 2009, DeWitt County Development Council unveiled a unique and comprehensive plan  setting the standard for community level redevelopment.

While recognizing the economic benefits of the unique energy resources available within its borders, local government and business leaders discussed avenues of economic and social development in the county. “The rare combination of having existing Green energy sources of nuclear, methane, and wind gives DeWitt County an advantage. 

Greensphere Global offers community based education of reduce/reuse/recycle projects, helps research solar and biotechnology applications, promotes ways to “green” existing businesses, encourages integration of green industrial parks and is working to develop incentives and awards for renewable building.  “This means our county is poised to attract the new green collar industries.” 

Our Purpose

to set the standard for community level redevelopment in the emerging world of carbon reduction. To be accomplished by reducing carbon emissions, encouraging economic development and improving the quality of life for the community.

Our Plan

to provide the framework, guidelines, and time frames to the public, business, government, health care, and school systems and work in partnership with each group for the successful accomplishment of these goals.
