The youngest community college in Illinois, Heartland Community College was founded in 1990. The public, two-year open admissions college is an affordable resource for higher education, focusing on student success. Centrally located in Normal, IL with convenient access to I-74, I-55 and I-39, Heartland's main campus is home to more than 40 programs for career training and transfer preparations. Among the ten buildings that make up the main campus is the first state-funded LEED-Certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building in Illinois -- the Workforce Development Center. A founding member of the Illinois Green Economy Network, Heartland provides training and education that responds to the workforce needs of the regional green economy, helping to address state and national sustainability initiatives.

Parkland College is a fully accredited, public community college established to serve the needs of District 505, the third largest community college district in Illinois. Built on 255 acres of landscaped grounds in Champaign, Illinois, Parkland is centrally located and accessible to all 54 communities in the district. Our beautiful, quiet campus is situated near the intersection of interstate highways 57, 72, and 74 and is just a seven- to 10-minute drive from the University of Illinois campus. Parkland College enrolls approximately 18,000 students annually. Our campus is a melting pot of student life, with cultures as diverse as the communities we serve, students ranging in age from 16 to 66 , and a growing international student presence. A third of our students live and work within District 505. Farmer City is in District 505.

Richland Community College is located in Decatur, Illinois, the heart of Central Illinois. Richland serves its District with the main campus, in Decatur, and three extension centers. The College’s main campus resides on a site of 155 acres of land.
RCC has a presence in Clinton and serves 4 of the 7 communities in DeWitt County. Also The College serves residents of Macon County and parts of Christian, DeWitt, Logan, Moultrie, Piatt, Sangamon, and Shelby Counties. Approximately 7,600 students are served annually at the main campus in Decatur, the Clinton Extension Center, Hope Academy, and other locations throughout the District.
*DCDC has been working with RCC as they add “green collar jobs” to their
curriculum: They have reinstated the Nuclear Program and are working with a few of
this county’s “green” employers on a renewable energy curriculum. RCC is
a partner in DCDC’s GreenSphere Global.

Lincoln College at Lincoln is a two-year private college offering a liberal arts foundation as well as athletic and fine arts programs. Lincoln College at Normal also offers associate degree programs as well as four-year programs and a cosmetology school.
